NFL Week 17 Picks Against the Spread

Publish Date: December 27, 2022

NFL Week 17 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 17 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)

Last Week: 6-8-2, Season: 106-124-8

Thursday Night Football

Dallas Cowboys (-12) at Tennessee Titans

This game doesn’t matter for the Titans, as if they win week 18 they are in the playoffs. The Cowboys should win and they should win big now that the Titans have decided to bench multiple starters.

Pick: Cowboys

Sunday Afternoon

New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5)

In week 16, the Eagles proved they can play with anyone, even with Gardner Minshew at quarterback. They should win and cover against a Saints team that has found no consistency on offense this year.

Pick: Eagles

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3)

If the Panthers can establish the run they can win this game, much like they did in week 16. Tampa Bay looked sloppy in week 16, but in a must-win game, Tom Brady will be at his best.

Pick: Buccaneers

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots (-2.5)

Tua Tagovialoa is back in the concussion protocol. The Dolphins should still be able to get a win over the Patriots, who has struggled offensively this season.

Pick: Dolphins

Cleveland Browns at Washington Commanders (-2.5)

This is a must-win game for the Commanders and a game that they can win. Their defense has stepped up this season and the offense has done enough to get them wins. Cleveland has yet to get things going with Deshaun Watson back at quarterback.

Pick: Commanders

Indianapolis Colts at New York Giants (-4)

Jeff Saturday’s tenure as head coach has not gone well. The Colts are stumbling and the Giants need to win this for playoff purposes.

Pick: Giants

Jacksonville Jaguars (-4) at Houston Texans

Jacksonville has been hot lately and has a real shot to make the playoffs. This game doesn’t matter to their playoff hopes, but the Jaguars should still win and cover.

Pick: Jaguars

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions (-5.5)

Week 16 wasn’t too kind to the Lions and they need to bounce back to get a win. Justin Fields will keep it close for the Bears, but just won’t be able to do enough to get the win.

Pick: Bears

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs (-13.5)

Denver is a dumpster-fire. There is an element of them possibly playing better with an interim coach, but the Chiefs are trying to get the top seed and should take care of business.

Pick: Chiefs

Arizona Cardinals at Atlanta Falcons (-3.5)

The Cardinals played the Buccaneers tough in week 16 with Trace McSorley at quarterback. They should be able to play things close against the Falcons, if not win outright.

Pick: Cardinals

Sunday Evening

San Francisco 49ers (-5) at Las Vegas Raiders

San Francisco just keeps rolling with Brock Purdy at quarterback. Their defense will be able to shut down the Raiders to help them get the win.

Pick: Raiders

New York Jets (-2.5) at Seattle Seahawks

Mike White will be back at quarterback for the Jets. They are traveling across the country to play a desperate Seahawks team though. Pete Carroll will have his team ready to play and pull off the upset at home.

Pick: Seahawks

Los Angeles Rams at Los Angeles Chargers (-6.5)

The Chargers are heading to the playoffs for the first time in Justin Herbert’s career. Herbert should be able to play well against the Rams, who are without several of their key players due to injury.

Pick: Chargers

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (-3)

The Vikings have come back down to earth and the Packers need to win to make the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers will win and cover in this one.

Pick: Packers

Sunday Night Football

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens (-3)

Lamar Jackson could be back for this game, which could be very important, as the Ravens still have a chance to win the division. The Steelers’ defense is great, but the offense may not put up enough points to cover.

Pick: Ravens

Monday Night Football

Buffalo Bills (-1.5) at Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati is really hot right now, but their injuries are starting to pile up. Buffalo can use Josh Allen’s running ability to win and cover on the road.

Pick: Bills
