Marvel Snap is a game filled interesting cards and more intricate strategies. The large pool of cards allows players to always innovate and try convoluted combinations. However, sometimes players just want to slam down a big ol’ dinosaur and call it a day.
Devil Dinosaur is a powerful card that will wind up being a lot player’s first big threat that could beat The Hulk. It’s a simple card that gets the job done and we love that for Devil Dino. But sometimes finding the right shell for this card can be tricky. Whether it be due to a Collection Level issue or bad Collector Box luck, players might just not have the right cards at the right time. Luckily TGH has your back. Here are three deck lists that feature Devil Dinosaur that players can give a shot.

Pool 2 Dino
Pros:
– One of the first truly solid decks players gain access to in early Collection Levels
– Plenty of reactive cards to allow for Devil Dinosaur to secure the game
Cons:
– Very predictable
– Can struggle sometimes when players don’t draw Devil Dinosaur
The Pool 2 Dino list is excellent for newer players because the list ultimately isn’t set in stone. This iteration is something I’ve personally felt worked well climbing through early Collection Levels. The game plan is simple – play things until turn four, where you ideally want Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur in hand. This allows you to then play one Devil Dino on turn 5, and follow up with another on turn six. Typically this is an easy 26 power swing in your favor.
The tricky part about this line of play is ensuring that Devil Dinosaur is in the left two cards in your hand. If it’s not there then the plan ultimately flounders. Having one large dinosaur can be enough, but there are times where you are behind at two locations and truly need an additional bomb.
That is the crux of the “cons” for this list. There are plenty of solid support cards in the list but there aren’t a lot of “win” cards here. Iron Man and Devil Dinosaur are good cards to end a game and they are solid throughout Pool 2. But if you miss one, then it’ll be tough to secure that second location. Despite the cons this list can be perfectly serviceable even past Pool 2.
Arnim Dinosaur
Pros:
– Explosive turn 6 can steal wins
– Finds wins without Dino
– Great From a Losing Position
Cons:
– Easily disrupted by Cosmo/Rogue Without Priority
– Tough to Play Around Certain Locations
– Can Accidentally Lose Games
Arnim Zola is a crazy powerful Snap card. It is usually best friends with Black Panther, but surely enough it’s strong with plenty of big threats – like our friend Devil Dinosaur. Turn five Dino into turn 6 Zola is a strong enough play that can net wins from plenty of difference board states. It’s a two card combo that can surprise some players after several turns of doing a bit of nothing.
One of the best parts of playing with Arnim Zola is the ability to save your Dinosaur from a dangerous position. With priority, Zola will move Devil Dinosaur away from an opposing Shang-Chi, Enchantress or Rogue. Zola is fantastic for when a player needs to readjust their game plan and need to move the Dino into another location.
However, playing Zola means that every move has to be thoughtful and with purpose. Players want to leave an open location to ensure a clean turn 5 Dino into a turn 6 Zola. Otherwise it becomes a coin flip as to what Zola actually duplicates. Not being careful with your card placement could result in some less-than-optimal Zola’ing.
Cosmo is a great pup, an absolute good boy. However he is the number 1 way to prevent the Zola combo from happening. Professor X is also a nuisance, and forces us to adjust the play pattern.
Death Dino
Pros:
– A reactive deck that keeps the board clean
– Attacks from multiple angles
Cons:
– A little clumsy at times, can try to do too much
– If Death isn’t cheap enough, it becomes a dead card (heh)
The last list of the day is an odd duck but it looks to bring a bit more of a diverse strategy to the table. We know that Devil Dinosaur is a great threat alone, but we really want to pair it with something that can utilize its raw strength. We’ve tried Iron Man and Zola, but sometimes you want to shake up the traditional plan of attack with Devil Dino. It’s time to welcome in Death.
The Death game plan revolves playing similarly to a “destroy” deck with cards like Carnage and Bucky Barnes. By destroying cards and reducing the cost of Death, this deck allows its pilot to play Devil Dino and Death on the same turn. In theory, the early turns will generate plenty of power that can assist with Dino and Death to push the total power over the edge.
Sadly this deck does have some consistency issues. It can be hard to time all the destroy card nicely, while hoping to also draw the big bombs. Ultimately this deck could use some tuning and iterations, so there’s a shot this list could be better than advertised.
Go Forth and Slam Dinos
These are only just a few versions of decks that utilize the power of the dinosaur. As time progresses, players are sure to innovate and create a few more optimized lists. Until then, give this a whirl.
