Kansas has suspended head basketball coach Bill Self and assistant Kurtis Townsend for four games. The suspension also comes with self-imposed recruiting restrictions. All of this stems from the NCAA investigation of Kansas and other schools in 2017 for allegations of bribery and corruption stemming from an FBI probe.
Kansas plays Omaha, North Dakota State, Duke and Southern Utah in the season’s first four games. Self and Townsend will be able to rejoin the team in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, which starts with the Jayhawks taking on NC State.
Other punishments may come down from the NCAA, as all of these are self-imposed by Kansas.
