It may not be the offseason, but teams are making moves like it is going out of style. On Monday August 15, the Washington Justice first announced that they have transferred the contract of Tae-Sung “Mag” Kim to the Boston Uprising. The main tank player joined the Justice at the start of the 2021 season. He entered the league with high hopes and great expectations after performing exceptionally well in Korean Contenders. While the 2021 season didn’t pan out as Justice fans may have liked, Mag was showing signs of improvement in his 2022 campaign.
Soon after the Justice revealed the player transfer, the Boston Uprising made their official announcement noting their excitement surrounding the new addition to the roster.

It was a shock to many to see the Boston Uprising be on the receiving end of a player transfer. The Uprising have recently announced that rookie main tank Chang-hee “ITSAL” Kim would be on a new two-way contract for the foreseeable future, indicating that the team would be leaning on Leyton “Punk” Gilchrist to be the headlining tank. However it appears that the Boston management are looking to keep the tank line depth they initially settled on at the beginning of the season

Mag is a talented main tank player and should serve as a fantastic one-two punch for the Uprising alongside Punk. With his proficiency on Winston, Mag will most likely settle into the Dive compositions for Boston once the meta leans that way once again. The two players will have to compete for play time in this current Junker Queen meta, as both players have flashed on the latest Overwatch hero.
Audiences will have to wait to see who gains the starting role when Boston face San Francisco this weekend.
