The Dolphins went against the Atlanta Falcons Saturday night, as they look to get better and form their 53-man roster for the regular season. The Dolphins played a lot of their first and second stringers throughout the first half. Tua Tagovailoa played a full half during this game and looked sharp. There were a lot of other great performances by the rest of the Dolphins offense and their defense. The Fins did play against a lot of the Falcons backups during this game, as they were resting their starters in preparation for the beginning of the regular season. The Dolphins won this game  37 -17. This article will give a recap on the Miami Dolphins preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Dolphins Offense
The offense seemed to be clicking on all cylinders in the first half. Tagovailoa looked very good as he was getting the ball out of his hands quick and finding the open receivers. He was 16/23 throwing the ball with 183 passing yards. He also had one touchdown during the game. Tua slung an 8-yard pass to Myles Gaskins in the Red-zone to give the Dolphins a 14-3 lead during the last two minutes of the second quarter.
Myles Gaskin also had a great game rushing the ball throughout the game. He showed off his quickness throughout his time on the field. Gaskin also showed how tough and gritty he is running the ball, as he broke a lot of tackles to gained extra yardage during his runs. The Dolphins also used Gaskin a lot as a receiver, which put the Falcons on their heels a lot. He ended the game with 27 yards rushing and 44 yards receiving. He had two touchdowns during this game, which was one rushing and the other receiving.
The receivers also had a great day on the field. Mack Hollins, who has been a standout receiver in training camp was reliable throughout the game. He was their leader in receiving yards with 49 yards. Waddle was also used throughout the first half. He caught a lot of short pass and used his speed to get his extra yardage after the catch. As of now, he looks like he could very well start for the Dolphins come week 1. The standout Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki also showed off his skills once again. He is a great route runner for a tight end and also found ways to catch the ball for big chunks of yardage during this game. He ended the day with two receptions for 43 yards.
Dolphins DefenseÂ
A couple of players on the Dolphins defense had great games. One player in particular was Sam Eguavoen who is one of the Dolphins linebackers. He had seven solo tackles along with four sacks on the night. He was also responsible for earning the Dolphins a safety during the game. Eguavoen had a monster night and hopefully he keeps this up into the regular season.
Eric Rowe made a pass break up in the end zone to prevent a touchdown. This could be called one of the key moments in the game in terms of momentum changing. Cre’von LeBlanc also did well as he had three tackles and forced a fumble during the game. Overall the Dolphins defense was stout the whole game. They held the Falcons to 89 passing yards overall between Feleipe Franks and AJ McCarron. The Falcon also had 187 rushing yards, which is a tad high, but the Falcons couldn’t seem to convert anything into points Saturday night. The Dolphins will  play the Bengals in their final preseason game on Sunday August 29 at 4 pm. This will be the Dolphins last game until the first week of the regular season.
