The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the Madden 20 questionable ratings: Oakland Raiders.
Trent Brown- 78
Brown was one of the most sought after free agents this past year after helping the Patriots win the Super Bowl last season. He elected to sign with the Raiders on a lucrative deal. Madden didn’t seem to recognize how well Brown played last season and gave him a 78 rating.
Madden rated several tackles ahead of Brown, including his former teammate Marcus Cannon. Brown is widely considered to be better than Cannon, but Brown is rated two points higher at an 80 overall. They should boost Brown’s rating the first chance they get.
Adjusted Rating- 82
Tahir Whitehead- 76
Oakland’s defense was not good last season, but Whitehead was a bright spot. He finished the season with 126 total tackles and five passes defended. His play was deemed good enough for a 76 rating by Madden, which is too low.
De’Vondre Campbell of the Falcons had 94 total tackles and 1.5 sacks last year, but was given a 79 rating. Whitehead had a little bit better of a season and should be rated similarly to Campbell.
Adjusted Rating- 79
Brandon Marshall- 75
Marshall was injured and only able to play in seven games last season. In 2017 though, he 106 tackles and three sacks for the Denver Broncos. When healthy, he is a good linebacker, but Madden gave him just a 75 rating this year.
Much like Whitehead, Marshall should be rated similarly to Campbell. Madden seems to take some injuries into account when rating players, but not all. Marshall should be able to be an effective player again in 2019.
Adjusted Rating- 79
Kolton Miller- 71
The Raiders selected Miller with their first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He had some ups and downs as a rookie, but looks to have some ability to improve upon. Madden rated him relatively low for a starting tackle at a 71.
Isaiah Wynn was drafted by the Patriots in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft as well. Wynn got injured and did not play a single game in the 2018 season. For some reason, he is still rated two points higher than Miller at a 73. Miller should at least be rated the same.
Adjusted Rating- 73
