The New Orleans Saints will start Ian Book at quarterback in Week 16 against the Dolphins. Book is being forced to start due to Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemien being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. This will be his first NFL start.
Yahoo Sports tweeted out the news thanks to reports from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

Book was selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame. Week 16’s game against the Dolphins will be his first NFL action.
In four years of college ball, Book played in 45 games, throwing for 8,948 total yards, 72 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He was the quarterback for Notre Dame as they earned their first College Football Playoff berth in 2018.
