The Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders have engaged in a late offseason trade. The Raiders have swapped quarterback Nick Mullens for Minnesota’s 2024 seventh round pick. This will be Mullens’ fifth team since entering the league, and he will likely serve as Kirk Cousins’ backup.
Mullens went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, but was picked up by the San Francisco 49ers, spending four seasons there. He then bounced around to Philadelphia, Cleveland and Las Vegas before being traded on Monday. He’s started 17 total games since entering the NFL, 16 with the Niners and one with the Browns.
His last start, in 2021 with Cleveland, he completed 20 of 30 passes for 147 yards and one touchdown. In his eight starts in 2017, Mullens threw 13 touchdowns to 10 interceptions, then went 12 and 12 in those same categories in his eight starts in 2020.
