A new chapter in the Civilization series has finally been announced in Civilization VII or Civ 7. Many fans had been wondering for some time, how much longer would the wait be? Now we know the answer. The Civ 7 Release Date is coming and possibly a lot sooner that you realized. But will Civ 7 still have hotseat mode?

Unfortunately, it does not look as if Civ 7 will be bringing along Hotseat.
If you are wondering what Hotseat is, it is where you and someone else can play on the same save as different Civs each getting a turn in each turn. This has been a staple for many for years and it is a shame that they decided to leave it out.
At least for now. There is a very real possibility that they could and will add this later. Especially if enough fans get upset about it.
The Civ 7 Release Date has officially been revealed at February 11, 2025.
As of now, the Civ 7 Release Date will be sometime in 2025.
The best guess for this will be sometime in Q3 or Q4. Every game in the series has launched in September or October other than Civilization 2. There is a very good chance that you can expect it to come out around this time period. This would set it up perfectly for the holiday season as well.
It would be unlikely for Civ 7 to come to Xbox Game Pass.
Not that it is impossible, especially with it not being in the 2K launcher anymore. Also with Civ 7 launching on PC and consoles at the same time, you can expect some pretty major changes. It still feels like there is little chance that Civ 7 will be on Game Pass anytime soon but never say never.
We are going to get some Civ 7 Gameplay very soon.
On August 20, 2024 they will be doing a 20 minute gameplay showcase. This will show off some of the mechanics, some of the roster and even the graphical style. Something that will certainly have the fans buzzing for some time.
The question will be, can Firaxis learn from Civ 6 along with some of the other 4x series that have launched in the past ten years? It will be certainly worth watching to see what the fan sentiment is as Civ fans are diehard and will be looking to see Civ 7 be a big upgrade from Civ 6.
