Manchester City played West Ham at home to close out the 2023-24 season. They wrested control of the game early, as Phil Foden curled a beautiful shot past Alphonse Areola to give City a 1-0 in the second minute. Foden would add to his tally in the 18th minute, after teammate Jérémy Doku slid a slick pass to him just inside the box. Foden hit his shot first time, nestling in the far side of the goal to give City a 2-0 lead.
While West Ham struggled to create chances, they did score a spectacular through forward Mohammed Kudus. Kudus tapped a lose ball off a corner into the air, before executing an acrobatic bicycle kick to get one back for West Ham in the 42nd minute.

Arsenal still had a chance to win the title at the start of championship Sunday. A loss or tie from City would have given the Gunners an chance to win the title with a win against Everton. Things got off to bad start for Arsenal, when Idrissa Gueye stepped up for a free kick in the 40th minute. His effort took a wild deflection off of Declan Rice, wrong footing David Raya, and giving Everton a 1-0 lead.
Arsenal responded quickly, as Takehiro Tomiyasu scored in the 43rd minute off a slick cross from Martin Ødegaard to tie the game. Arsenal controlled the game despite the challenges, holding 70% of possession, and finishing the game with 26 shots. Their control payed off the 89th minute, when Kai Havertz scored after a turnover in midfield, giving Arsenal a 2-1 lead. Fans had tepid celebrations, as many new that City were winning at the time, thus keeping Arsenal in 2nd place finish.
Newly promoted Luton Town will return the Championship along with Burnley and Sheffield United.
These relegation results were clear last week, as these teams have struggled massively this season, with only one win between them in their last 15 games.
