The Miami Dolphins win streak is now up to five, as they beat the Giants at home over the weekend. The Dolphins won by a score of 20-9. Â Miami’s defense shined again in this game. They held the Giants to only three field goals, as New York did not score a touchdown in this game. The Giants were without starting quarterback Daniel Jones due to injury as Mike Glennon got the start. This could have attributed a little to this Giants offense struggling. Here is TGH’s recap the Miami Dolphins’ Week 13 game against the New York Giants.
Devante Parker was back
Miami got one of their top receivers back against the Giants in DeVante Parker. Parker was activated off the IR as he was suffering from a hamstring injury. He looked completely healthy in this game against the Giants. The Dolphins wide receiver looked fast and made a couple of tough catches in this game. He had 62 yards receiving and was targeted five times.
The leading receiver for Miami in this game was Jaylen Waddle. He was just shy of 100 receiving yards as he had 90 yards on nine receptions. He has really given a spark to this Dolphins’ receiving core this year as Devante Parker has been out with injuries for a lot of the season. Waddle will continue being a threat to NFL defenses with his route running and ability and speed. The touchdowns in this game came from some of the other Dolphins receivers. Isaiah Ford and Mack Hollins both got touchdown grabs in this game.
Tua Tagovailoa had another great game
Tua Tagovailoa was not as accurate in this game as he was last week, but he still had a great performance. He had 244 yards passing and two touchdowns in this game. Tagovailoa is great at getting the ball of his hands fast and using his speed to extend plays. He has really shined during this winning streak and has stopped the conversation of the Dolphins’ maybe shopping for another quarterback next season. Tua has done well at taking care of the ball these past two weeks. He did not have an interception against the Panthers last week and avoided the interception this week against the Giants. He is turning in a good season so far, as he has 1,945 passing yards, 12 touchdown and six interceptions.
The defense stymied the Giants offense
Mike Glennon and the Giants offense really struggled against the Dolphins defense. The Dolphins blitz did have an effect on Mike Glennon in this game. He really had to rush a lot of this passes, which in turn made a lot of his passes inaccurate. He also is not as mobile as Daniel Jones, which made his life a little more difficult on Sunday.
Jaelen Phillips was one Glennon’s biggest worries in this game. He has really broken out as one of the top linebackers in the NFL. He sacked Glennon two times in a row at one point and really got the Dolphins defense fired up. Phillips, who is only a rookie, has 20 solo tackles on the season and is tied for 11th in the league in sacks as he had eight and a half. Miami also had one turnover in this game. Xavien Howard made a leaping interception near the goal line to take possible points off the board for the Giants. Overall, this was another great win for the Dolphins, as they are now in the mix for Wild Card berth. This concludes this Miami Dolphins’ Week 13 game recap.
