According to Adam Scheffer, the Jacksonville Jaguars have traded Gardner Minshew to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Jaguars will get a conditional 6th round pick in return from the Eagles. This pick could be a 5th round pick if Minshew plays 50 percent of the plays in 3 games of the season.

Minshew had been on the Jaguars for two years. In 2020, he started 8 games for Jacksonville. He threw for 2,259 yards and 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. The year before that in 2019, Minshew had a fantastic rookie year. He started 15 games and threw for 3, 271 yards. He also had 21 touchdowns and six interceptions that season.
This is a big trade for the Eagles and could possibly effect the future of Jalen Hurts. Minshew is good enough to take the starting quarterback position away from Hurts. He is a really accurate passer and doesn’t turn the ball over a lot. He had a 66.1 completion percentage in 2020. It will be interesting see what kind role Minshew will take on in Philly whether it’s starting or being the back up to Hurts.
