The 2022-23 NFL season has already been extremely entertaining. Bye weeks are starting to take place. This means that wide receivers like Cooper Kupp and Stefon Diggs will be out this week. On top of that injuries have started to mount up at this point of the season. It is always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. Here are the fantasy football week 7 wide receiver rankings.
*Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to reserve/COVID-19 list*
(Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week)
Key:
Must Start- a player who is in your lineup regardless of the matchup or most circumstances. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and in most weeks.
Starting WR1- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.
High WR2- a player who may isn’t likely to carry a lineup that week, but has the ability to have a breakout game and is teetering between WR1 and WR2 territory.
Starting WR2- a player who should be started in most lineups and should reach their point projection. This player is started is because of their consistency and moderately high floor
Low WR2- a player who may not be a lock to start for a team every week, but will start more times than not. Their production may not be pretty or win a person their lineup but the production is consistent enough to make a fantasy owner comfortable starting them.
Flex- a player who could float around the territory of being benched, but is started due to the potential to play better than their point projection. However, this player has the potential to flop and causes a fantasy team to lose if he has a bad game.
Deeper League Flex- a player who has starting value in deeper leagues. There are enough reasons to leave this player on the bench, but their upside makes them an attractive option. Desperate times may call for a player like this to be inserted into starting lineups.
Upside Player- a player who is boom or bust. This player can exceed expectations in a given week or could flop and be the reason why someone lost their fantasy matchup.
Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Possible Changes that can occur before Sunday
WR2 CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
CeeDee Lamb was limited in practice on Wednesday with a hip injury. If he misses this week’s game against the Detroit Lions Michael Gallup moves up to WR15 between Mike Evans and Courtland Sutton. Noah Brown would move up to WR40 between Curtis Samuel and Zay Jones.
Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receivers: WR4 Ja’Marr Chase & WR10 Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
Ja’Marr Chase was limited in practice on Wednesday because of a hip injury. Tee Higgins has been dealing with a lingering ankle injury. If both were inactive this week against the Atlanta Falcons Tyler Boyd would be the WR14 between Mike Evans and Courtland Sutton.
If Chase is active but Higgins is inactive Tyler Boyd moves up to WR23 between Allen Lazard and Brandin Cooks.
If Higgins is active but Chase in inactive Higgins would move up to WR7 between Jaylen Waddle and Michael Pittman Jr. Boyd would move up to WR23 between Allen Lazard and Brandin Cooks.
WR7 Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
Jaylen Waddle was limited in practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniels is optimistic that Waddle will be able to play. If Waddle is unable to play Trent Sherfield and Cedrick Wilson become interesting DFS plays this week.
Los Angeles Chargers Wide Receivers: WR12 Keenan Allen & WR50 Josh Palmer
Keenan Allen missed Los Angeles’ past five games with a hamstring injury. He is expected to resume playing this week. Josh Palmer missed practice on Wednesday due a concussion. If both Allen and Palmer are inactive then Mike Williams will move up to WR16 between Courtland Sutton and Tyler Lockett. DeAndre Carter would join the list at WR41 between Zay Jones and Josh Reynolds.
If Allen cannot play but Palmer is active Williams moves up to WR16 between Courtland Sutton and Tyler Lockett. Joshua Palmer moves up to WR49 between Marquez Callaway and Garrett Wilson. DeAndre Carter joins the list at WR66 between Marvin Jones Jr. and Nick Westbrook-Ihkine.
If Allen is active but Palmer is inactive then DeAndre Carter joins the list at WR65 between Marvin Jones Jr. and Nick Westbrook-Ihkine.
WR17 Tyler Lockett, Seattle Seahawks
Tyler Lockett missed practice on Wednesday with a hamstring injury. If Lockett doesn’t play this week against the Arizona Cardinals Marquise Goodwin, Dee Eskridge, or Penny Hard would step up as the #2 wide receiver for Seattle. They would only be interesting DFS plays in this scenario.
WR18 Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints
Chris Olave missed last week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals because of a concussion. If he misses this week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals Marquez Callaway moves up to WR38 between Devin Duvernay and Curtis Samuel. Tre’Quan Smith moves up to WR48 between Donovan Peoples-Jones and Garrett Wilson.
WR38 Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens
Rashod Bateman missed the past two games with a foot injury. If he misses this week’s game against the Cleveland Browns Devin Duvernay will move up to WR34 between Alec Pierce and D.J. Moore.
Detroit Lions Wide Recievers: WR41 Josh Reynolds & WR56 DJ Chark
Josh Reynolds missed practice on Wednesday because of a knee injury. DJ Chark also missed practice on Wednesday because of an ankle injury. If neither Reynolds nor Chark play this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys Kalif Raymond and Tom Kennedy would fill in for them.
If one of Reynolds or Chark are active and the other is inactive the active player out of the two of them would slot in at WR39 between Devin Duvernay and Curtis Samuel.
WR45 Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders
Jahan Dotson returned to practice Wednesday after missing the past two games with a hamstring injury. If Dotson doesn’t play this weekend against Green Bay Dyami Brown would join the list at WR66 between Nick Westbrook-Ihkine and Elijah Moore.
WR51 Julio Jones, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Julio Jones has missed four of the past five games with a knee injury. He missed practice on Wednesday. If Jones doesn’t play this weekend against the Carolina Panthers Russell Gage would move up to WR53 between Wan’Dale Robinson and Tre’Quan Smith.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receivers: WR55 Christian Watson & WR60 Sammy Watkins
Christian Watson missed last week’s game because of a hamstring injury. Sammy Watkins is set to return for IR after missing the past four games with a hamstring injury. If both Watson and Watkins do not play this weekend Amari Rodgers becomes an interesting DFS play this week.
If one of Watson and Watkins is active this week the active player will slot in at WR55 between Tre’Quan Smith and DJ Chark.
WR57 Nico Collins, Houston Texans
Nico Collins was limited in practice on Wednesday with both wrist and Achillies injuries. If he was to be inactive this week against the Houston Texans Chris Moore would likely be the team’s number two receiver.
WR65 Marvin Jones Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
Marvin Jones Jr. missed last week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts with a hamstring injury. If he missed this week’s game against the New York Giants his role will likely be filled by Jamal Agnew.
