2021 NBA Champion Bryn Forbes has reportedly signed a deal to return to his first team, the San Antonio Spurs. After winning the NBA Finals with the Bucks, he opted out of his contract, signing a new one to come back to the Spurs.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news early Tuesday morning, via Twitter.
Free agent guard Bryn Forbes has agreed to a deal with the Spurs, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Forbes returns to San Antonio.

Forbes went undrafted after declaring in 2016. The Spurs gave him a chance to be a part of their 2016 Summer League team, eventually earning his way onto the roster, playing in 36 games. He played in 80 games of the 2017-2018 season, coming off of the bench. The next season he played in 82 games, starting 81 of them.
He signed with the Bucks in November of 2020, playing in 70 regular season games of the 2020-2021 season, starting in 10 of them. Forbes averaged 10 points per game in the regular season and 6.6 points in the playoffs. Milwaukee and Forbes eventually would go on to win the NBA Finals. Now, he will attempt to repeat with the team that gave him a shot.
