The 2024 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Blake Fisher 2024 NFL Draft Profile.
Blake Fisher Background
Position:Â Offensive Tackle
School:Â Notre Dame
Size:Â 6-foot-6, 310 pounds
Class: Redshirt Sophomore
2023 stats:Â Member of Joe Moore Award Semifinalist (Nation’s Best Offensive Line)
Fisher was overshadowed by other players at Notre Dame, but had a solid two-year run there. He is now in the 2024 NFL Draft.
As a four-star recruit in the class of 2021, Fisher decided to stay in-state and play for Notre Dame. He played in two games during his first season, but ultimately redshirted. In 2022, Fisher stepped into the starting lineup at right tackle. He helped the Fighting Irish win nine games that season. For the 2023 season, Fisher helped the offensive line be a Joe Moore Award Semifinalist. His play led the team to a 10-win season.
Following the 2023 season, Fisher declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day-two pick.
Blake Fisher Strengths
Fisher has a solid size for an offensive tackle at the NFL level. He stands at 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, which is solid by NFL standards. With his size comes good length, as he has 34 3/8-inch arms. He uses his size and length to neutralize defenders in pass blocking and run blocking.
Especially for his size, Fisher is a good athlete. He can get to the second level as a run blocker and hit moving targets. While he isn’t perfect in pass pro, he can mirror pass rushers decently staying in front. He also has average flexibility to help stop bending edge rushers.
He has shown the ability to handle powerful defenders well. Fisher has good play strength and can move people in the run game. As a pass protector, he is able to anchor well and hold up against bull rushers to protect the quarterback well.
Blake Fisher Weaknesses
He can struggle with super-quick edge rushers for a few reasons. Fisher doesn’t get the quickest jump at the snap of the ball, so defenders can get the edge on him sometimes. He has decent athleticism, so improving his snap quickness could really aid him in this area.
His hand usage needs to improve as well. Fisher can have more pop in his hands to strike a jolt into defenders. He also needs to work on his hand placement. Fisher can make sure his hands stay inside and don’t get wide.
Fisher needs to maintain his balance better. He can be thrown off balance by pass rushers who change direction on him. Maintaining a better base will help him in this area. He can also cut down on his lunging, which happens infrequently.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
