Andrew Luck has too much talent to not lead this team to division titles. He was the number one overall pick for a reason, but struggles with turnovers. Last year he was hurt and I believe that was the only reason the Colts finished 8-8. If Andrew Luck was healthy the Colts would have won at least 10 games. Andrew Luck said the Colts will score a lot on offense this year, but they still have Frank Gore who at his advanced age may not be able to carry the entire load. They will need Robert Turbin to contribute heavily. Their receiving core is good, but the offensive line is below average. It remains to be seen if the Colts will have one of the best offensives in the NFL, but with Andrew Luck they have a shot.
Defensively is where I believe the Colts will struggle. Last season they ranked 25th in points allowed and 26th in yards allowed. They did very little in free agency to improve their defense. They added corner back Patrick Robinson, but that minor move is not going to make this defense one worth writing home about. The Colts defense also tied for 22nd in sacks. If the Colts want to win the AFC South and possibly be a threat in the AFC their defense needs to improve. I don’t believe that will happen, which is why I don’t think they will win the division.
