4. Houston Texans
Last Year Record: 9-7
Key Additions: QB Brock Osweiler, RB Lamar Miller
Key Losses: S Rahim Moore
Big Games: Sep. 22 @ New England, Oct. 9 @ Minnesota, Oct. 24 @ Denver, Nov. 21 @ Oakland, Dec. 4 @ Green Bay, Dec. 24 @ Cincinnati
The Houston Texans had a solid year last season considering they went through four different starting quarterbacks. This offseason the Texans made it their mission to solidify the quarterback position. They signed Brock Osweiler, who played in eight games for the Broncos last season, had 1,967 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. It remains to be seen if he can consistently be a franchise quarterback, but the Texans believe.
I am picking the Texans to finish fourth due to the unfamiliarity of Osweiler in the system with a new team. They also have a new running back in Lamar Miller who needs to adjust to a knew city as well. The Texans will have a much inferior defense than they are used to. I am picking them to finish last, but with the unpredictability of this division, I wouldn’t be surprised if they finished first.
