#3 New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints went 7-9 in 2015 and finished third last year in this division. In the offseason, they worked on fixing their holes on defense. They fired defensive coordinator Bob Ryan and moved defensive assistant Dennis Allen to defensive coordinator. Coach Allen was also on the coaching staff as a secondary coach during their Super Bowl season in 2009. The Saints defense needs someone with a secondary background.
The Saints defense has been vulnerable to pass for about two seasons now. Defense, as whole, has been pretty rough for the Saints the last two years. They added former St. Louis Ram linebacker James Laurinaitis, his teammate defensive tackle Nick Fairley, and more to repair their defensive.
On offense, they went out and got former Indianapolis Colt tight end Coby Fleener. They also just recently added former Green Bay Packer John Kuhn. They still have Drew Brees, one of the best quarterbacks in the league, throwing these players the ball.
With the key additions to the defense and some minor tweaks to the offense, the Saints are ready to start competing for the NFC South crown again. But I think they only finish third in this division with a record no better than a 9-7, most likely an 8-8 season.
