Now that Phase 3 of the National PUBG League has come to an end with Tempo Storm coming out on top once more, it’s the Contenders time to take the stage. One week stands between these teams and the next level of competition. This has been one of the closest contests to date, and it is still very unclear who will break through to the top. The final week of the NPL Contenders is up. Who will earn the right to fight for promotion?
Contenders’ Final Day
The final day for the NPL Contenders was a tough one for all of the teams involved. The tight race came to a stunning finish with Smokin’ Aces Red blasting their way into first with a huge 171-point finish. Halocline strung together some impressive performances as well, but they landed in second place with 157 points. The God Squad went from a weak week three with no wins, to solidifying themselves in third with 153 points. They came so close to knocking off Halocline for the bigger finish.
The top three were followed by Comets in fourth with 149 points and Oxymoron in fifth with 148. Under the top five, Obey, Elus1ve, Noble, Super Nova and 303 Esports finished strong enough to earn their place in the relegation match. Phase 3 was so close, that any of these teams could have pulled out enough points to earn this chance. Now these 10 teams have to worry about the bottom six of the NPL, who they will be facing off against.
NPL Bottom Six
The bottom six of the National PUBG League consists of Wildcard, PlayerOne, SpaceStation, Lowkey, VanQuish and Zenith. PlayerOne and Wildcard will be two teams that the Contenders will need to keep their eyes on. Both of these teams had their strong days in the NPL, and they do know how to win games. It is very likely that these two teams will remain in the NPL after facing off against the best that the Contenders have to offer.
SpaceStation are another team that knows how to win, but they seemed to have trouble finding their footing in Phase 3. Even thought they had a struggle this time around, it is also very likely that the Contenders teams will have a hard time taking on a tough, seasoned opponent like SpaceStation. Lowkey, VanQuish and Zenith are going to have a tough time dealing with the likes of Smokin’ Aces Red and Halocline. They have their struggles and it really showed towards the end of the NPL. There is a big chance that they will find themselves falling out of the top league.
Teams to Watch
Smokin’ Aces Red and Halocline will finish in the top of the relegation matches. They have been extremely consistent and their momentum will carry them right into the National PUBG League. Oxymoron have also shown that they have what it takes to play on the next level. Their teamwork is strong and rivals that of some of the NPL teams. If they can stay focused, they will be moving on as well. All of the other Contenders teams have a chance, but they will have to perform on a whole new level if they want to advance. Who is it going to be this time?
