As one of the most iconic events in golf and beyond, attention within the golfing fraternity is starting to turn towards the upcoming Masters Tournament – taking place at the August National Course in April 2022.
With players across the world all vying to take the trip down Magnolia Lane and experience the pristine nature of the Augusta National Course, it once again promises to be a superb weekend of golf this year.
The opening Grand Slam of the calendar year, the Masters has been held in Georgia since 1934, with the list of winners deemed by many to be the definitive who’s who of professional golf.
From historic legends of the game from Ben Hogan and Sam Snead to revolutionaries such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson, all the way through to current heroes of the game such as Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, winning a Green Jacket at the Masters is seen by many to be the ultimate peak a golfer can reach.
The event begins on Thursday 7th and concludes on Sunday 10th April, in what should be one the biggest golfing events of 2022.
Current US Open champion and world number one Jon Rahm is awaiting his first Green Jacket and he is the favourite to clinch it in 2022.
The Spaniard has an insatiable appetite for winning and battles hard in every event he plays on both the PGA and European Tours.
He looks to have ditched a few of his mental hiccups too in recent years and at +1000, he is the justified Masters favourite in the ante-post market.
Two-time major winner and current British Open champion Collin Morikawa is also another man that is in contention in every tournament he plays and how he’d love to get his hands on a Green Jacket.
He has an unwavering iron game, ideal for conditions at the Augusta National and should he find his rhythm he could be a very tough man to stop.
Coming in at +1100 odds, he isn’t too far behind Rahm heading into the 2022 Masters and both men will be ones to watch in April.
American Jordan Spieth last won the Masters in 2015 and he has subsequently added two more major titles to his tally.
2021 was a real season of renaissance for Spieth, who found his best form and went on to play an important part in the USA’s Ryder Cup win.
He knows what it takes to win here at the Augusta National and he could sneak under the radar at +1300 in 2022.
Dustin Johnson is also a former Masters champion, having blown away all before him in 2020 and despite not playing his best golf in 2021 – he should be ready to go this year.
Very few players can keep up with ‘DJ’ should he find his A game and the lure of another Green Jacket is surely going to inspire him again in 2022.
At +1500, Johnson looks a good bet to pick up his second Masters title this season – especially if the weather is set fair.
Elsewhere in the field, value can be found in Hideki Matsuyama and Viktor Hovland – coming in at +2200 and +2800 respectively with the current bet365 bonus code offers.
Matsuyama is the defending champion here at Augusta and hits the ball as clean as anybody, whilst Viktor Hovland is one of the brightest young talents in the game and both men have genuine cases to go all the way and claim the Green Jacket in 2022.
