The Titans Cometh. In an announcement made today following the reveal of a new format for the Overwatch League, the Vancouver Titans have announced a return to North American play. The team left the great white north after fears of the growing COVID-19 pandemic started to take hold. Though they have only seen one weekend of play since this move was made it was not a good one. The last time this team saw playtime it ended in a 0-2 disaster of a weekend. Hoping to put that failure behind them the Titans will soon return to the Pacific East Division.
This return to the Pacific East Division comes hot on the heels of VP of the Overwatch League Jon Specter’s announcement. The league will undergo a format change for the month of May. The teams will be competing in a tournament instead of the usual weekly fights. With the teams over the next few weeks playing for placement rights. The Titans will be taking the digital stage against others in the NA region. This means fans will finally be treated to a larger variety of matches rather than the same teams facing off time and time again.Â
Titans Look to Right the Ship
As mentioned this announcement came with the news that all 13 teams in North America will now be able to compete against each other. Whereas before the locations of the teams limited the variety of competitive play that was available. The Titans will look for a return to form in week 14 when they take on the Washington Justice and the Florida Mayhem.
The Titans will look to bounce back after falling so aggressively but only time will tell if they will be up to the task.
