The 2021 Overwatch League playoffs begin at the Esports Stadium in Arlington. The top teams in each region will automatically earn a spot in Texas based on their total League Points. The top three teams in the West and the top two teams from the East will earn that coveted playoff berth. The rest of the league will battle it out in a play-in bracket two weeks prior to the playoffs. Eight teams will eventually find themselves in Texas. The double-elimination bracket will finally whittled the field down to two teams. Those top two teams then head to LA to decide who will lift the OWL championship trophy.

As it stands, it looks like any of the teams in North America should be eligible to play live at the stadiums. The biggest question mark for the moment will be if APAC teams are able to make the trip. While the world has been slowly opening back up, travel remains one of the trickiest aspects for Overwatch League teams. There is no doubt that the league working hard to make sure their team has a chance to play in front of a live audience. Either way, fans are elated to have the Grand Finals back on stage. As the Countdown Cup begins in the next few weeks, it’s time teams to make their biggest push for the playoffs yet.
