The Philadelphia Fusion ended their homestand on Sunday night with a decisive 3-0 victory against the Florida Mayhem. Next on the schedule for the Fusion is a trip down to Washington D.C. to face a powerhouse in the NYXL and a questionable Toronto Defiant team.
Philadelphia Fusion (2-0) vs NYXL (2-0)
Some fans could say that the Fusion’s first real test was against the DPS core of the Washington Justice this past weekend. Most fans of the Fusion won’t have the chance to question the test this match-up will provide. Both teams come in 2-0 after wiping the floor with their competition. There’s one glaring difference between the games the Fusion played versus the teams the NYXL beat. The NYXL beat a brand new London team that surprisingly took a map off them and a Boston Uprising team that doesn’t look too hot.

Carpe will need to present his clutchness against a powerful NYXL team. The weapons that the NYXL possess are plenty and getting that first pick will be key. Carpe along with the whole team will need to take advantage of the NYXL starting off the season against weaker opponents. If Carpe consistently gets early picks, the Fusion should do well.
Prediction: NYXL win 3-2
Philadelphia Fusion (2-0) vs Toronto Defiant (0-1)
Fans should not sleep on the Toronto Defiant. The Defiant were ranked number twelve in this past week’s TGH writer’s power rankings. They went into the New York homestand and defeated a Paris Eternal team that is showing promise. Unfortunately, that is the only game they had in week one. The Fusion come into this game after a potentially spicy bout against the NYXL. With their blood flowing and the performance they put on in Philadelphia, this game looks to be in the Fusion’s favor.

Sado needs to continue his strong performance to silence the haters. Any Fusion fan that caught this past weekend’s games knows that Sado looked spectacular. He did have a few questionable shatters but overall he was a night and day difference from the feed fest last year. This game against a weaker opponent in the Defiant is a great time for him to shine and show his full potential.
Prediction: Fusion win 3-1
