Alarm was a rising star in the Overwatch League and one that many in the community had been waiting to join the league. Once he was signed with Philadelphia, it was no surprise to many that Alarm was considered by many to be one of the best supports in the OWL. Not only did he win Rookie of the Year but he was considered for the MVP and was a Role-Star at his position.
Unfortunately, his death also coincided with the death of Dennis “Internethulk” Hawelka just four years earlier. He was another beloved player in the community and passed away suddenly on November 8, 2017.
There are many who are calling for the Overwatch League or even Overwatch to find a way to remember Alarm. Some even suggesting that the Rookie of the Year Award should be named after him. It would seem as though something will be done to honor the loss of such an incredible talent.
Take some time to remember Alarm and celebrate his legacy, while respecting his family’s privacy. The 2020 Overwatch League Rookie of the Year was an amazing figure for the community. He impressed Overwatch players and viewers all around the world. Many players have begun creating tributes celebrating his life, may he rest in peace.
