This afternoon, Overwatch League fans in Philadelphia were given the opportunity to get exclusive merchandise through a limited-time collaboration event with Mitchell & Ness, a local Philadelphia retailer. This took place at their flagship store in the heart of Philadelphia, where fans began lining up hours before the store opened to get a chance to get exclusive merch and to meet some of their favorite OWL players.
The Merch
Merch available at the store included an OWL Grand Finals long-sleeve shirt with the Grand Finals trophy hidden on the back, only activated by UV light. There was also a long-sleeve shirt dedicated to the local team, the Philadelphia Fusion.
The customizable gear came in the form of Mitchell & Ness hoodies and jackets pictured below. Fans had the option of buying OWL-themed patches and have them attached on the spot. This allowed fans to have a completely unique piece of OWL gear, while also celebrating a local brand in Mitchell & Ness.
The Players
In addition to the merch that fans were able to purchase, several players sent as representatives from their teams were in attendance for a meet and greet. The players pictured below started the day at the venue, subbing in for another set of players later in the afternoon.
Events like these can both celebrate the impact that OWL franchises have on their local markets while also giving fans in Philly a completely unique and local experience during their Grand Finals stay. But, it doesn’t end here, the action continues through tomorrow, including lots of pregame activation and, of course, the big game itself at 3:00 pm ET.
