Console players felt a little gipped when the first closed Overwatch 2 beta came around earlier this year. The PVP test was only for select PC players, leaving out a large majority of players who opt to play Overwatch on a PS5 or XBOX. However as of today, console players no longer need to fret. On June 14, Overwatch announced that the Overwatch 2 beta will be coming to consoles.

The Overwatch 2 beta will officially kick off on June 28, with sign-ups starting Thursday June 16. The announcement comes off of the heels of an earlier announcement over the weekend that revealed that Overwatch 2 would be released on October 4. At the time, players were worried that the new content that was highlighted during the showcase would all be unavailable until October. Luckily that no longer looks to be the case.
Overwatch 2 is planning on releasing a new character and a new map when the beta goes live on June 28. With the Overwatch 2 beta heading to consoles, more players will get a chance to experience the new changes and tweaks to their favorite game. The small pool of players for the initial closed beta only allowed for a few players to give feedback to developers about how the game looked and felt. Now with a much larger audience, the Overwatch 2 beta will have plenty of people to test all the new features.
Players have to sign up on June 16 to gain access to the beta. Potential testers need to just give their Battle.Net username to sign up. From there, players will need to be patient and wait for the confirmation that they made it into the beta.
