A huge signing as finally come in the NHL as Kirill Kaprizov signed a five-year contract with the Minnesota Wild.
Kaprizov won the 2021 Calder Trophy, which is awarded to the best first-year player in the NHL.

Kaprizov is truly a valuable player that the Wild couldn’t afford to lose. Kaprizov finished off his rookie season with 51 points in just 55 games.
In addition to these stats, the Russian hockey star has previously laced up his skates for the KHL. What’s more, is that Kaprizov has registered a whopping 230 points in a six-year span of his pro hockey career. On top of that, Kaprizov won the 2018 Olympic Winter Games with Russia.
Kaprizov’s contract is worth $45 million, which is more than any other player on the Wild’s roster.

As the Wild head closer to their first preseason game beginning this Saturday against the St. Louis Blues, it’s crucial that this team forms their roster to ensure that they have a successful season. Of course, the Wild is definitely looking further into the future of the regular season, which begins Oct. 15 against the Anaheim Ducks.
