Jets head coach Robert Saleh has announced that Zach Wilson will make his second-straight start in Week 16. Backup-turned-starter Mike White is still dealing with a rib injury and has not been cleared for contact. It’s likely that White would’ve been named the starter again, as Wilson is dealing with regression this season.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
White has played and started in three games this season, going 1-2. He’s thrown for 952 yards, three touchdowns and two picks on 62 percent completion. He suffered his rib injury in his game against Buffalo, having to be taken to a hospital.
Saleh benched Wilson after Week 11, when the Jets scored only three points against the New England Patriots. He completed just nine of 22 passes for 77 yards, zero touchdowns and zero picks. Wilson has lost three of his eight starts in 2022.
