The Washington Football Team has decided to release veteran running back Adrian Peterson according to NFL Network.

Peterson, 35, is fifth on the all-time rushing list with 14, 216 yards. After starting his career in Minnesota, he played the 2017 season for the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints. Since that point he has played in Washington.
Washington has reportedly been impressed with rookie Antonio Gibson and Peyton Barber in training camp, which prompted this move.
