Tight end T.J. Hockenson has been traded to the Minnesota Vikings on trade deadline day. The Vikings are sending over a 2023 second and 2024 third round pick in return for Hockenson and a 2023 fourth-round and 2024 conditional fourth-rounder.
The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Hockenson was a very highly drafted tight end out of Iowa back in the 2019 NFL Draft. He was taken by Detroit and has remained there for his entire four-year career. During his time there, he has earned one Pro Bowl nod in 2020.
In seven games so far in 2022, Hockenson has 26 receptions for 395 yards and three touchdowns. He is already well on pace to outgain his 2021 numbers, which sat at 583 yards and four touchdowns on 61 catches.
