As the Steelers’ players adjust to training camp at Heinz Field, they have also been relaxing in their rooms during their free time. Several players took to social media to show off how they are living the suite life at training camp.
Adjusting to Training Camp at Heinz Field
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, all NFL teams were forced to switch up where they are holding their training camps. Each team is now having training camp at their home stadium.
The Steelers’ are enjoying their time using Heinz Field as a place to practice and bond with coaches and teammates again.
The team spent most of the summer separated and in quarantine. This means there is still a lot of work to be done to make sure all players are working together and are in sync for the upcoming season.
Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin had one request for players before they returned for training camp. He simply asked that they come prepared and in good physical condition.
“That was the only thing they could control and that would kind of be a catalyst for us to move forward,” Tomlin said.
Living the Suite Life
Normally, Steelers’ training camp would be held at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. There, the players would normally be staying in the campus dorms. However, this year the team is adjusting to some upgraded living situations while at training camp.
The players are currently residing in Heinz Field’s stadium suites. Veteran players have their own suites, but the younger ones have been sharing their space with another player.
Cornerback Joe Haden gave his thoughts on the suites on his Instagram story.

The rooms appear to feature several seating areas, a kitchen, a bathroom and two TV’s. They also feature some of the nicest views of Heinz Field.
Wide receiver Ryan Switzer also posted about his suite on Instagram.
Steelers’ Players Enjoy Some Down Time
While the athletes do not have the opportunity to spend time with fans during training camp this year, they are finding other ways to please Steelers Nation.
After practice on August 6, Haden virtually signed any photos sent in by fans to the Steelers’ official Twitter account.
Steelers’ players have also taken to Twitter to discuss what they’ve been doing during their free time. Tight end Eric Ebron is one of several players who have been tweeting about what shows they’re watching at camp.

Meanwhile, wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has been using his free time to make all the TikTok’s he can. He even made a few at the Steelers’ media day on August 8. Players have also been posting those pictures to their social media accounts since then.
