Seattle has officially unveiled their “new” look. The Seahawks are going to wear throwback jerseys to resemble the look of the 1990s Seahawks once next season, in Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns. The jerseys are already available to purchase.
The NFL’s official Twitter account shared a few pictures of the uniforms on Wednesday.
During the 1990s, the Seahawks won the AFC West and made the playoffs just once, both in 1999. At the end of the decade, they said, “goodbye,” to the Kingdome, moving to Lumen Field in 2002, the same year the team moved to the NFC.
This new uniform marks the team’s fifth look. Along with their home (blue) and away (white) jerseys, they also have gray and “action” green jerseys. It is unclear at this juncture why the Seahawks are only wearing the throwback looks once next year.
