The San Francisco 49ers are sending the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, a 2021 third round pick and first round picks in 2022 and 2023 to acquire the third pick from the Miami Dolphins according to multiple reports.
Filed to ESPN: Dolphins trading No. 3 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers for the No. 12 pick, a 2021 third-round pick (SF’s comp pick for Robert Saleh hiring) and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023, per sources.

With move, the 49ers are expected to take one of the top quarterbacks in the draft class. According to Schefter, they have not locked in on one, but rather traded up because of the good options at the top of the draft.
The Dolphins drafted their franchise quarterback last year in Tua Tagovailoa, which allowed them to trade to a team that wants to draft a quarterback. Now Miami will have the No. 12 overall pick, the No. 18 overall pick in this draft and first round picks in each of the next three NFL Drafts.
