The Las Vegas Raiders are hiring Josh McDaniels as their next head coach. The Raiders decided to not stick with interim coach Rich Bisaccia, despite being the first interim head coach to lead his team to a playoff berth.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Sunday.
Raiders are expected to hire former Patriots’ OC Josh McDaniels as their head coach, per sources. Two sides still are finalizing the contract, but McDaniels is their man.

Former head coach of the Raiders, Jon Gruden, was fired after damning emails came out including racist, sexist and homophobic language. Special teams coach Rich Bisaccia was chosen to be the interim head coach, leading the team to the Wild Card round. The Cincinnati Bengals ended their season on a goal-to-go stand as time expired in the fourth quarter.
Josh McDaniels is a six-time Super Bowl Champion with the New England Patriots. A bulk of those wins came with McDaniels as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He had a brief stint as a head coach with the Broncos. He lasted less than two seasons there, going 11-17.
