The Philadelphia Eagles (12-1) will be facing the Chicago Bears (3-10) this Sunday in Chicago. The Bears will be looking to end a six-game losing streak while the Eagles look to get their 13th win of the season and avoid an upset. Let’s preview the Philadelphia Eagles Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears.
The Chicago Bears
The Bears have only won three games this season with Justin Fields at quarterback. Fields is one of the best running quarterbacks in the league. He has 905 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on the season. His passing numbers on the other hand are not so hot. He has passed for over 1,800 yards and has 13 touchdowns. Fields is also prone to interceptions as his accuracy is not the best at times. He has 10 interceptions on the season. He also gets sacked a ton, which has stalled a lot of Chicago drives this year. The Bears also have David Montgomery at running back. He has over 600 yards and four touchdowns on the year. However, they are short at running back with Khalil Herbert being out with a hip injury. Herbert had been sensational before the injury. He is fast and is a playmaker. The Bear’s leading receiver is Darnell Mooney. He has 493 passing yards and two touchdowns thus far.
The Bears will need to win this game on the ground to have a chance. Fields will have trouble dealing with Eagles’ secondary. Philadelphia averages 178.7 passing yards allowed per game, which is tops in the league. Montgomery will need to get a lot of touches and Fields will need to work his magic on the ground. Philadelphia has shown their run defense can be a little shaky at times.
The Philadelphia Eagles
This can be seen as a trap game for the Eagles. Philadelphia faces the Cowboys next after the Bears. That will be a huge showdown in the NFC East Division. The Eagles cannot overlook Chicago. Furthermore, a lot of Chicago’s losses are by 10 points or fewer.
The Eagles’ defense should give Justin Fields all he can handle. The Philadelphia Eagles rank first in sacks this year with 49. Philadelphia has a lot of playmakers who can get to the quarterback such Hasson Reddick and Javon Hargrave. Another tough factor for Fields is the Eagles’ secondary which features Darius Slay and James Bradberry who have both been stellar for Philadelphia this year. This defense should really stifle this Chicago Bears offense.
On offense, The Eagles just need to do what they have been doing all year, which is giving the ball to Miles Sanders or passing the ball to one of the Eagles’ weapons at receiver. A.J. Brown has had a brilliant season. He has over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on the year. Jalen Hurts is also having an MVP-caliber year and will surely find ways to make plays passing and running the ball. It is predicted that the Eagles will not overlook this game and beat Chicago by more than two touchdowns. This Concludes this Philadelphia Eagles Week 15 game preview.
