NFL Week 4 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 4 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last Week: 9-7, Season: 21-27
Thursday Night Football
Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5)
The Dolphins are coming into this game hot, but also injured. While the Bengals are at home on the short week, so they should get a win, but Miami’s defense should be able to keep it close.
Pick: Dolphins
Sunday Morning
Minnesota Vikings (-3) vs. New Orleans Saints (Game in London)
New Orleans did not look good on the road at Carolina. It is doubtful it will get better in London. The Vikings’ offensive weapons should be able to help them win and cover.
Pick: Vikings
Sunday Afternoon
Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5)
Jacksonville has surprised some early in the season, but Philadelphia seems like more of a complete team. They should be able to win and cover at home with Jalen Hurts playing so well.
Pick: Eagles
New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5)
Both these teams have just one win in three contests. The Jets have had more success offensively, while the Steelers have the better defense. It will likely be a close game that the Steelers win, but their bad offense will prevent them from covering.
Pick: Jets
Chicago Bears at New York Giants (-3)
The Giants are going to have a short week. Their offensive line and receivers looked bad against Dallas. Brian Daboll can still get a win, but the Bears will run the ball and keep the game close.
Pick: Bears
Cleveland Browns (-1.5) at Atlanta Falcons
Cleveland should be able to beat the lower-level teams in the league even without Deshaun Watson. The Falcons got a win in Seattle, but are still in rebuild mode.
Pick: Browns
Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys (-3.5)
The Cowboys’ defense looks great with Micah Parsons leading the way. On the other side, the Commanders’ offensive line and defense are really limiting them. Dallas should win and cover.
Pick: Cowboys
Los Angeles Chargers (-4.5) at Houston Texans
While the Chargers are getting banged up with injuries, they are still a much more talented team than the Texans.
Pick: Chargers
Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions (-5)
Detroit has looked much better this season, but they might still be a year off from consistently covering. They may win this game, but the Seahawks will try to run the ball and control the clock.
Pick: Seahawks
Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts (-3.5)
Both of these teams struggled out of the gate, but rebounded in week 3. They would both like to establish the run, which should make this a low-scoring, close game.
Pick: Titans
Buffalo Bills (-3.5) at Baltimore Ravens
This is one of the best games of the weekend. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson will be dueling and it could come down to the wire. The Ravens being a home underdog makes them the smart pick.
Pick: Ravens
Sunday Evening
Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers (-2)
The Cardinals have struggled, but they shouldn’t be a an underdog against the Panthers. They should win outright.
Pick: Cardinals
New England Patriots at Green Bay Packers (-10.5)
Mac Jones will miss this game, so the Packers should be able to dominate.
Pick: Packers
Denver Broncos at Las Vegas Raiders (-2)
Denver has somehow looked worse than the Raiders, even though Las Vegas hasn’t won a game. The Raiders will have the pressure on them to win at home.
Pick: Raiders
Sunday Night Football
Kansas City Chiefs (-2) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers have not looked good this season, so until they can get healthy and prove themselves it isn’t a great idea to pick them. While the Chiefs may have stumbled to the Colts, they should be able to get back on track.
Pick: Chiefs
Monday Night Football
Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (-2.5)
Although the Rams haven’t played to their potential yet, the 49ers have played much worse. It is shocking to see them favored.
Pick: Rams
