The Minnesota Vikings have reached a one-year, $13 million deal with free agent edge rusher Marcus Davenport according to NFL Network.
Davenport, 26, has 21.5 sacks and 25 tackles for loss in his five seasons with the Saints to start his career. Last season, he had 0.5 sacks and two tackles for loss, but had nine sacks in 2021.
Minnesota cleared a lot of cap space by cutting veterans an had a need to add new impact players on that side of the ball. Davenport will be playing for new Vikings’ defensive coordinator Brian Flores.
