The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the questionable Madden 20 ratings: Buffalo Bills.
Tre’Davious White- 85
In just two short years in the NFL, White has cemented himself as one of the best corners in the game. He hasn’t given up many catches and has 26 passes defended to go with six interceptions over the two seasons. Madden didn’t rate him as a top 15 corner to reflect his good play.
White is rated at an 85, but he has earned a better rate than that even if his second season in the NFL wasn’t quite as good as his rookie year. As one of the best corners in the game he should be more closely rated to Chris Harris Jr., who was rated as a 90, which was good enough to be the sixth-best corner in the game.
Adjusted Rating- 90
Cole Beasley- 83
Beasley will be getting familiar with a new team in 2019, but does have a good Madden 20 rating to boast about. He was rated at an 83 after registering 65 catches for 672 yards and three touchdowns last season. While that is a solid season, especially for a slot receiver, Beasley should not be rated that high.
Clavin Ridley had a rookie season where he had 64 catches for 821 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns and is rated as a 78 by Madden. Since Ridley outclassed Beasley in just about every stat other than catches, Beasley should be docked points, while Ridley should be given a few more.
Adjusted Rating-78
John Brown- 79
The Bills signed a good deep-threat in Brown this offseason. He only had 42 catches last season, but totaled 715 yards and five touchdowns. He played for the Ravens last season and complemented Joe Flacco’s playing style, but didn’t fit well with the team when Lamar Jackson took over under center. With Josh Allen this season, Brown should expect to produce more than last season.
Through seven games in 2018, he had 558 receiving yards and should be rated more closely based on his season started than how it ended given the circumstances. Danny Amendola had just 51 receptions for 575 yards and one touchdown last season in Miami and is rated at an 81, so Brown should be ranked at least that high.
Adjusted Rating- 81
Tremaine Edmunds- 74
Even though he had a solid rookie season, Madden 20 rated Edmunds extremely low at a 74. He totaled 121 tackles, but also helped out the team in other ways with two sacks and 12 passes defended. While he is still a young player, Edmunds has already proven to be better than a lot of the players rated ahead of him (there are over 70 linebackers rated higher than Edmunds).
Edmunds could be compared to a lot of players higher than him on the list of rankings, but Wesley Woodyard had fewer tackles than Edmunds and a few more sacks, making them decent comparisons. With similar production, the two players should be rated similarly.
Adjusted Rating- 79
