Cornerback and kick and punt returner Keisean Nixon is returning to the Green Bay Packers on a one-year contract. His deal next year is worth a maximum value of $6 million. He did see some defensive snaps last season, but was heralded as the league’s next great returner.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Nixon did not sign with the Packers until March 26, 2022. He was given the reins on punt and kickoff returns after the team cut bait with Amari Rodgers, who was not producing at the position. He managed to score his first NFL touchdown on a kickoff return, which was the Packers’ first in over a decade.
Despite only seeing work for part of the year, Nixon was chosen as the return specialist representative on the 2022 First Team All-Pro. He also had an interception last year, along with a forced fumble and 23 combined tackles.
