The Kansas City Chiefs have made a move to supplement the loss of Frank Clark. Defensive lineman Charles Omenihu is signing with the Chiefs on a contract worth $20 million maximum over the length of two years.
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz tweeted about the news on Tuesday.
During his NFL career with the Texans and 49ers, Omenihu has racked up 67 tackles, 11.5 sacks, six pass deflections and three forced fumbles. Originally drafted in the fifth round, he was traded to the 49ers in November of 2021 for a sixth round pick.
In 2022, Omenihu played in all 17 games, but started in just three. He deflected one pass, forced a fumble and had a career high in sacks, with 4.5. He will be 26-years-old at the beginning of the 2023-2024 regular season.
