Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Being placed on the list will all but assure he will be unavailable to play in the regular season finale against the Minnesota Vikings.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
The #Bears placed QB Justin Fields on the COVID-19 reserve list, almost certainly knocking him out on Sunday.

The Bears sit at 6-10 on the season so far, currently riding a two game winning streak against the Seahawks and New York Giants, respectively. They have been eliminated from the playoffs and are playing a team in the Vikings that were also officially eliminated in Week 17 in a loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Fields is 2-8 as a starter, throwing for 1,870 yards, seven touchdowns and ten interceptions. He has also rushed for 420 yards and two touchdowns and has 12 fumbles on the season. With the teams underwhelming performance in 2021, it is likely that Fields will have a new coach in the 2022 season, as Matt Nagy is sacked.
