Rookie quarterback Justin Fields will get the first start of his career on Sunday. After Andy Dalton suffered a bone bruise in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Fields will start against the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.

Fields has gotten some playing time over the first two weeks of the NFL season, but Dalton remained the starter. In Week 1, he threw twice for ten yards and rushed once for a three yard touchdown. He got more work in Week 2 after the injury to Dalton, going 6-for-13 on passing attempts including a touchdown and an interception. Fields also ran the ball ten times for 31 yards, most importantly on a third down play that sealed the game for the Bears.
It is unclear at this time how long Dalton’s injury will last and who will take over starting quarterback duties when he is available to play. Stay tuned to TGH for more NFL injury news and updates.
