Free agent quarterback Jimmy Garropolo has agreed to a three-year, $67.5 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Mike Garafalo was the first to report a deal was in progress.
Garoppolo, 31, has spent time with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers in his career. He originally backed up Tom Brady before being traded to the 49ers. He then started for the 49ers, but suffered injuries and was benched last season in favor of Trey Lance. Garropolo stepped in, but then was injured and Brock Purdy stepped in.
In his career, Garopplo has passed for 14,289 yards, 87 touchdowns and 42 interceptions on 67.6 percent completion. He was a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams in New England.
The Raiders were in the market for a quarterback after benching Derek Carr last season and then cutting him this offseason.
