Aaron Rodgers may make a return to the field after all, as the Jets have opened his 21-day practice window. This means that the team will officially have 21 days to decide whether Rodgers will be elevated to the active roster, or sent to an injury list.
The Jets’ official Twitter account announced the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
As most know, Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury just a few snaps into his first regular season game with the Jets. He seemed to know it was serious immediately, and was carted off the field in the first quarter.
Since that moment, Zach Wilson was thrust back into the starting role, to not-so-great results. The team is 4-7 with an offense that is so mediocre to bad that Wilson has resorted to starting Tim Boyle. Rodgers clearly wants to be the fastest player in NFL history to return from this kind of injury, but that comes with risks as this offensive line is suspect.
As stated above, Rodgers and the Jets will have three weeks to decide whether or not he will be on the roster for the end of the season.
