The Tennessee Titans have reached a new deal with linebacker Jayon Brown, their fifth round pick in 2017’s NFL Draft. The deal is worth $5.25 million for one year.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
LB Jayon Brown returning to the #Titans on a 1-year deal worth $5.25M, per source. Turned down other offers to return to revamped Titans D and reset his budding market prior to his elbow injury last season.

Brown’s season ended early in 2020, due to a dislocated and broken elbow suffered in Week 11. He recorded one interception, one sack, two forced fumbles and 76 combined tackles last season. This shows signs of growth, however, as his numbers were much the same in 2019, even as he played in three more games.
He is a known commodity and knows the Titans’ system better than most after being drafted into it four years ago. Clearly the deal takes into account his injury history, as the Titans are hedging their bets with a one-year contract in case he suffers another injury.
