The Indianapolis Colts have hired their next head coach. Former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen won the Colts job over other candidates like Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia and Colts interim coach Jeff Saturday.
The Colts’ official Twitter account reported the news on Tuesday.
Steichen started his coaching career at the University of Louisville in 2010, as an offensive assistant. He spent just one year in college before entering the NFL. From 2011-2020, Steichen held five different jobs with the Chargers and one with the Browns.
He was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator for two seasons, including their most recent campaign in which they reached Super Bowl 57. Steichen replaces Jeff Saturday, who was named interim head coach after Frank Reich was fired.
