The Eagles are signing two players to mitigate injuries suffered on Sunday afternoon’s game. Safety Anthony Harris is returning to the team after being released earlier in the year. Long-time Titans punter Brett Kern is also signing with Philly.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Kern played for the Titans for 12-plus seasons, from 2009 until 2021. He lost the starting punter job in the 2022 offseason, and has not played since. Eagles starting punter Arryn Siposs was injured last week, however, leaving the team in need of a veteran.
Harris played one year in Philadelphia after spending his previous six as a Minnesota Vikings. He played in 14 games with Philadelphia in 2021, grabbing 72 combined tackles, three pass deflections and one interception. He now gets to return to the team as C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Reed Blankenship get healthy.
