The Washington Redskins named Dwayne Haskins as their starting quarterback on Friday for Week 9.

This will be the rookie’s first career start in an NFL game. Previously, Haskins underperformed in small showcases earlier in the season. Against the New York Giants, he totaled 107 passing yards and three interceptions. Despite his poor play, many chose to give the first-year quarterback some slack. Head coach Bill Callahan had given Case Keenum the majority of the reps in practice, putting Haskins at a disadvantage. The same case could be made for his 33-yard, one interception performance against the Minnestoa Vikings.
Now — after a full week of practice as the starter — Haskins will get to prove himself against the Buffalo Bills.
