The Los Angeles Chargers will move another player to the injured reserve list. Dontrelle Inman suffered a quad injury in Week 4 against the Dolphins.
According to Yahoo! Sports, the Chargers are moving Inman to IR to make room for a kicker. Their punter has been placekicking since Michael Badgley went down with a groin injury. Free-agent Chase McLaughlin will be signed in the interim.
Due to Travis Benjamin and Mike Williams being injured, Inman has seen an increased usage rate. In four games this year, he has caught eight passes for 132 yards and no touchdowns. During his five year career, he has 2,233 yards and only 11 touchdowns.
2019 is Inman’s third stint with the Chargers since 2014. He played in San Diego from 2014-2016. In 2017, he was traded to the Bears, then signed again with the Chargers later that year. Then, signed again with the Chargers in 2019 after a nine-game stint with the Colts in 2018.
The Chargers currently have nine players on IR. They continue their season Sunday against the division rival Broncos.
