The Cincinnati Bengals will be without many players in Week 18 against the Cleveland Browns. Cincinnati has already clinched the AFC North and has only a four percent chance to earn the number one seed in the entire AFC. They will be without Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon and many others, listed below.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Bengals’ Pro-Bowl RB Joe Mixon tested positive today for COVID-19 and will be out Sunday vs. the Browns, per league sources.
One day earlier, the Bengals placed S Vonn Bell, LB Akeem Davis-Gaither, DE Trey Hendrickson, C Trey Hopkins, G Quinton Spain on the reserve/COVID-19 list

Running back Joe Mixon is one of many Bengals to test positive for COVID-19, which will cause him to miss Week 18. Vonn Bell, Akeem Davis-Gaither, Trey Hopkins, Quinton Spain and Trey Hendrickson have also been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. It is unclear whether or not these players are vaccinated or not, which could possibly change their availability for Sunday. However, since their seeding is all but guaranteed, the organization may not risk their health.
Quarterback Joe Burrow will also not play against the Browns to rest up for the playoffs. Burrow suffered an injury on the last series of Week 17’s win against the Chiefs, necessitating Brandon Allen to come in and take a knee and spike the ball before the game-winning field goal. If he were to start, he would be without multiple starting offensive lineman, which makes the decision easier.
